Automatic Application - Recommended for in tunnel automatic tire shine MACHINES AND APPLICATORS. It is recommended that the tire shine applicators be placed in the drip space or at the exit end of the wash process. Applicators may utilize foam rubber pads,spray or cloth. Tire Dressings that contain silicone versus Water based:
Water-based silicone tire dressings are emulsions of silicone and water. The appearance is a milky-white color of various viscosity. Once applied to a tire, the silicone breaks from the emulsion and adheres to the tire. Unfortunately, this action is not limited to tires, but to any surface the emulsion contacts: wheels, glass, concrete floors, carwash equipment, wash material, etc. This presents a maintenance problem and a safety issue. Emulsions of silicone will dry to a semi-solid residue. This will clog application nozzles and leave application material less likely to absorb moisture. More maintenance.
